Narcotics Unit

The Narcotics Unit is responsible for felony narcotics investigations in Rockland County. The Unit’s responsibility further includes protecting the public health by combating the illegal use of prescription controlled substances.

Major Crimes Bureau

The Major Crimes Bureau handles violent cases ranging from Homicide, Manslaughter, Armed Robbery and Assault. Gang violence as well cases involving weapons may also be handled by the Major Crimes Bureau.

Special Victims Unit

The Special Victims Bureau investigates and prosecutes sexual assault cases, regardless of the age of the victim, and also investigates and prosecutes all incidents of harm to children who are under 13 years of age at the time that the perpetrator is apprehended, including cases of physical abuse and homicides. Assistant district attorneys in the Bureau are trained in dealing with these especially vulnerable victims.

Special Investigations Unit

The Special Investigations Unit investigates corruption and fraud committed by elected officials and public servants at all levels of government. This includes, but is not limited to, bribery and malfeasance associated with elections, political campaigns, and the government contracting process. The bureau also investigates organized crime as well as cases of fraud, waste, and abuse in government programs.
